Manideep GNS

Finance Engineer and Chartered Accountant

Hi, I'm Manideep.

I run finance across four countries at UrbanPiper, and I built the software it runs on by directing Claude Code.

4,156 changes to the software I built since January 2026. Every star is one. GitHub ↗

How I work

I write down the real problem before I fix anything.

“The data you think exists in Zoho…
doesn't exist in Zoho.”

From the memo on why month-end took fifteen days, January 2026
  1. Look for the real problem first.

Month-end numbers took fifteen days. The reporting wasn't the problem: the data lived in ten places. I wrote that down before fixing anything.

  2. One rule beats four exceptions.

Billing in India, the UK, the Middle East and the US now runs on the same rules. Fewer special cases means fewer things that fail quietly.

  3. Say what went wrong.

After my first Big-4 audit, I analysed all 1,967 emails to see why it nearly slipped. It wasn't effort, it was timing. So the hard calls moved from December to July.

  4. If it's idle, it's idle.

My cat app once used 12% of the CPU while doing nothing. "No theatrics," I said. Now it uses almost none.

The day job

Finance in four countries.

At UrbanPiper since 2024, Head of Finance today. Capital, tax, investor diligence, the plan and the monthly close, for four companies in four countries.

  • A four-country Big-4 audit in two months. The first under my charge. The usual is six.
  • Chartered Accountant, qualified in 2023, after audit and financial reporting work since 2018.
Four countries, one finance function.

What I built

Atlance.

The software UrbanPiper's finance runs on. It doesn't replace Zoho, Salesforce or Stripe. Every source syncs into one database, and the screens, AI agents and reports sit on top. It retired seven tools and a twenty-one-sheet workbook, and more than thirty teammates use it.

How I build

I review every change Claude Code makes.

Solo, while running the finance function. 30 modules and about 4,100 changes since January 18, 2026, the day I opened a GitHub account.

Off hours

A cat that lives on your Mac.

Cataholic is a chunky cat (or a hundred) for your Mac. Eight coats, and the menu takes your cat's colour. Drag a window and a grid fades in to help you line it up; land an edge on a line and your trackpad taps once. It holds up a sign when something needs you. Notarized by Apple, and it updates itself. Wrapped is my first year of building, told as a story.

The cat rides along as a window snaps to the grid.
